Blonquist Joins Addison Homes

Andru Blonquist has joined Addison Homes as Production Manager. In this role, he oversees construction of the company’s EarthCraft House™ and ENERGY STAR® certified homes, ensuring best-practice procedures are implemented from start to finish.

A graduate of Brigham Young University, Blonquist holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management with a minor in Business. He is a licensed South Carolina Residential Builder and Certified Erosion Control Inspector. He formerly served as purchasing/estimating manager for Crescent Homes in Charleston and as an operations consultant for the residential building industry throughout the Southeast.

Blonquist is active in the community, volunteering with youth organizations through his church and participating in a number of disaster relief efforts, most recently helping with tornado clean-up in Alabama.

ENERGY STAR v3 implementation dates announced

ENERGY STAR v3 program for modular homes implementation dates have been announced by the U.S. Department of Energy:

• ENERGY STAR modular homes ordered from a modular builder or homebuyer between October 1, 2011, and June 30, 2012, must comply with Version 2.5. The v2.5 guidelines can be found at ENERGY STAR'S website: www.energystar.gov. Homes with sales orders placed prior to October 1, 2011 can still comply with Version 2.
• Modular homes with an order date on or after July 1, 2012 must comply with ENERGY STAR Version 3 guidelines.
• The technical requirements of v3 are established by the U.S. EPA and can be found on the EPA website: www.energystar.gov.

The dates for implementation for manufactured homes have not been finalized.

EPA names Ryan Homes Energy Star Partner of the Year

NVR Homes, which builds under Ryan Homes in the Upstate, hass been named the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star Partner of the Year.

"At the beginning of 2010, NVR began qualifying every home to the ENERGY STAR standards established by the EPA. NVR built more ENERGY STAR qualified homes than any other home builder in 2010 and has, to date, built more than 10,000 ENERGY STAR homes. ENERGY STAR qualified homes are 20-30% more energy efficient than standard homes."

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded Addison Homes, LLC, with the ENERGY STAR® Excellence in Efficient Homes Award for Five Year Sustained Commitment. The award recognizes Addison Homes' ongoing commitment to build ENERGY STAR®-qualified homes and to educate consumers and new home buyers about the benefits of building sustainable, energy efficient homes.
