Home Builders Association of Greenville member Branch Banking and Trust, or BB&T as it is more commonly known, has announced plans to build a new mortgage services center in Mauldin.
According to the S.C. Department of Commerce, the financial services company will invest $30 million to construct a 140,000-square-foot facility on Butler Road, expected to be complete by the fourth quarter of 2017. The facility will house more than 600 employees who will “work primarily in administrative, back office and support functions,” according to a news release.
“With this state-of-the-art facility, we will be better equipped to provide our clients with superior service, as we help them fulfill the dream of homeownership,” said Tol Broome, BB&T mortgage lending president, in the release.
BB&T has more than 2,196 financial centers across 15 states and is a Fortune 500 company. The announcement of their new building is beneficial to both our industry and our community.

CANCELLED! Tonight's HBA of Greenville appreciation night at Downtown Alive
UPDATE: Please note that tonight's HBA of Greenville Member Appreciation Night hosted by Piedmont Natural Gas during Downtown Alive has been cancelled due to potential inclement weather. However, The SMC of the Upstate Summer Social is still scheduled for tonight at 5 p.m. at Conservus Realty.
