Blu-Sky Group formed by Dillard and Vass

Greenville business owners and HBA members Thomas Dillard and Kathy Vass have formed a new Greenville-based real estate company.  Blu-Sky Group LLC is a real estate development, marketing and sales firm that focuses on residential and commercial properties.

Dillard is president of Dillard-Jones Builders LLC. Vass is president of Vass Markets Inc., a marketing and public relations firm.

Blu-Sky Group is representing The Ridges at Paris Mountain, a new 18-residence master planned community on Altamont Road that features views of the city of Greenville on the development’s south side and the Blue Ridge Mountains on its north side.  The Ridges at Paris Mountain has been selected as the site of the 2014 Southern Living Showcase Home by Dillard-Jones Builders, which will open next spring.

Dillard and Vass will serve as managing partners of Blu-Sky Group.

HBA of Greenville featured in the Washington Post

Dillard-Jones Builders Named 2011 Southern Living Builder Of The Year

Dillard-Jones Builders LLC has been named the 2011 Southern Living Builder of the Year by the magazine’s Custom Builder Program – the only company in the program’s 18-year history to receive the award twice. Dillard-Jones was the 2009 Southern Living Custom Builder of the Year, which marked the first time a South Carolina home builder had won the prestigious national award.

The Southern Living Custom Builder Program is an invitation-only network of more than 100 custom home builders throughout the South. Members are selected based on: their reputation among local businesses and consumers; strength of presence in their respective markets; superior quality and attention to detail; and innovative style. Builders are required to re-apply each year and are evaluated by Southern Living to assure they have met the standards.

A member of the Southern Living Custom Builder Program since 2007, Dillard-Jones Builders received the 2011 Builder of the Year award for its successful presentation of the 2010 Southern Living Showcase held November 5 through December 19 in Greenville’s Claremont community. The award was presented during the Southern Living Builder Conference held February 25-26 at Wild Dunes Resort near Charleston.

Tom Dillard named to board of Southern Living Custom Builder program

Tom Dillard, president of Dillard-Jones Builders, LLC, of Greer, SC, and immediate past president of the HBA of Greenville, has been named to the board of directors of the Southern Living Custom Builder program. Board members serve a three-year term with a focus on improving the national magazine’s program for custom builders and its sponsors, said Kristen Payne, executive director of the Southern Living Homes Group.

The Southern Living Custom Builder program is an invitation-only network of about 100 builders from across the country. Members are chosen for their experience and knowledge and reputation in the marketplace, the organization said. Builders are required to reapply each year and are evaluated by Southern Living to assure they meet the standards of the program.

Dillard-Jones Builders was named a member of the Southern Living Custom Builder program in 2006 to represent the national lifestyle magazine in the Greenville, SC, market. In 2009, the company was named the Southern Living Custom Builder Member of the Year, becoming the first South Carolina home builder to receive the national award. In 2010, the company presented its third Southern Living Showcase Home – a home designed and built for LEED for Homes certification that will be incorporated into the Southern Living collection of national house plans.
